Chuck Liddell Planning on Fighting for the Title
Chuck Liddell wants everyone to know that he may be forty years old, but he can still fight like a thirty-five year old and party like a twenty-two year old.
I miss fighting and I want to fight, so that's what I'm doing," Liddell said Monday, expressing a desire to prove he is still a viable fighter. "I'll keep arguing and (White) will keep arguing with me. I just have to show him that I can perform."
...
"I would like another fight and then I want another fight after," he said. "Hopefully, Dana's happy with my two wins and I get a shot at a contender and then a shot at a title. That's four fights and that's about as far forward as I've thought."
Does that mean Liddell is expecting to lose his hypothetical title shot or retire on top a la John Elway?
So, if Chuck beats Tito (again) who does the UFC put in front of him? How about Keith Jardine!
If Liddell avenges that loss then...oh, who am I kidding? Liddell is 1-4 in his past five fights and his last two losses came via knockout. Not to mention Liddell's inability to adapt or improve his skill set. Chuck will certainly be the early favorite against Tito Ortiz but even if he wins is there a realistic path to a title shot that won't end in this?

lets not hope this turns into a brett favre situation.
i would not expect chuck to cry but my thinking is he wants to keep fighting b/c he gets the blondes who are clearly pictured with him in that photo. if your out of the public eye your mojo seems to dissapear. b.f. will do another season b/c his ego can’t take that he threw an interception for his last pass and he needs the sale of his new wrangler jean line to do better. lol.
i'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. i was building a house, i don't deserve this, deserves have nothing to do with it. bang. "unforgiven"

Hey, if Cro Cop can keep saying he’s fighting for the title, so can Chuck. Which seems less likely though?
