Report: Nogueira vs. Griffin at UFC 114 (Update)

Forrest-griffin-nogueira_medium

Tatame reports that a fight between Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (18-3) and Forrest Griffin (17-6) is in the works for UFC 113 in Montreal, Canada.

TATAME.com that he'll face Forrest Griffin at UFC 113, on May 8th, and the fighter confirmed the negotiations. "It's almost set, we're negotiating, but it's 100% yet. It's not confirmed by the UFC yet", Nogueira said, following the birth of his first daughter, Valentina. "I feel great, that's a great responsibility. A child depending on us, a little girl", finished.

A potential clash between these two light heavyweights was first reported by Fighter's Only though that report didn't include a potential venue.

WKR isn't so sure that these two will fight at UFC 113. A fight between Griffin and Nogueira could easily be a co-main event --which UFC 113 already has in Koscheck vs. Daley-- for either UFC 114 in Las Vegas or UFC 115 in Vancouver. Though the addition of Griffin vs. Nogueira could bolster the Montreal card, which was recently moved back a week to avoid the Floyd Mayweather-Shane Mosley boxing fight.

Update: MMA Junkie is reporting that this fight will likely occur at UFC 114 in Las Vegas, Nevada rather than UFC 113 in Montreal (WKR totally called that).

Griffin recently described this fight as a, "horrible fight."  Meaning that Rogerio Nogueira is a poor match-up for the former light heavyweight champion and TUF season one winner.

Rumored card after the jump.

- Champ Lyoto Machida vs. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua for light heavyweight title

- Paul Daley vs. Josh Koscheck
- Kimbo Slice vs. Matt Mitrione
