Shocking! Tito Ortiz claims that Chuck Liddell 'Loved to Party'

Tito Ortiz had some interesting comments regarding his old nemesis and current rival TUF 11 coach, Chuck Liddell (video via Cage Writer).

"I think [Liddell] had a problem," Ortiz said. "A lot of people go through addiction. I think his deal was he was an alcoholic. He loved to party."
...
"When you have all the money in the world and you can do what you want, no one tells you, 'No.' You're one of the baddest men on the Earth; no one tells you, 'No.' You can do what you want."
...
"Thank God that (UFC president) Dana (White) gave [Liddell] an intervention, and he's sober now," Ortiz said. "He's been sober since November, and he looks like a different person. It's awesome. I'm proud of him – really proud of him. A lot of people can't do that. I kind of went through that myself, but I looked in the mirror and I realized that wasn't the life I wanted to lead.
...
"I'm proud he's found sobriety. A lot of fighters, and a lot of people in general, don't do that. They fall off the face of the earth, and sometimes they'll find them in a hotel, dead, or behind a wheel, dead. Thank God Chuck isn't one of those guys. Thank God he found sobriety, and I'm proud of him – very proud of him."
"When my friend see him out at night, I'll tell them to buy him a drink," laughed Ortiz.

Tito is basically saying that Chuck Liddell was an alcoholic, hence the need of an intervention.

Obviously Ortiz is not exactly the best secondary source. Hell, Tito is claiming that he can't remember anything from the weekend of UFC 106 due to a concussion he suffered in training. If that were the case how does he have a fighter's license?

On the other hand Chuck Liddell clearly liked to party. Check out this little collage WKR whipped together.

So maybe Ortiz isn't so far out of left field. Then again, Tito is forgetting the reforming powers of Dancing with the Stars. Actually, Liddell partied after those episodes too...

If it wasn’t for the fame, I doubt chuck would get laid, but all is good. Also, hope tito wins ‘cause he’s going to look like shamrock if he doesn’t. KARMA!

Bar sluts aren’t all that hard to impress. He doesn’t have to be famous, he’ll continue to get plenty of ass as long as he keeps throwing money around in the VIP section at clubs.
