Fedor and Brock are in the Top 100 of Most Powerful Athletes

Brock-fedor_medium

Business Week comprised their 'Power 100 of 2010' and lo and behold two MMA fighters made the list.

Brock Lesnar ranks #96

Why he's on the list: The professional wrestler-turned-WWE showman, took a hiatus from wrestling in '04-'05 to play football, only to return to fighting in the form of MMA. He is currently the UFC heavyweight champion and is an ideal fit for companies trying to get in touch with their tougher side.

Fedor Emelianenko ranks #82

Why he's on the list: Mixed martial arts have become exceedingly popular among the young male demographic, and publications and web sites such as ESPN, Sherdog and Full Contact Fighter rate the Russian-born Emelianenko the best fighter of all time.

Two boxers made the list as well. Floyd Mayweather Jr. came in at #91 while Manny Pacquiao came in at #72. The list is also heavily centered on North America how else can you explain the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo. That dude makes bank.

I also don’t remember any Formula-1 drivers on that list and there are couple that make $40+ million a year.

That pic of fedor is a little disturbing.
