UFC Welterweight News

Coming out of UFC 108 there was the potential for a major welterweight shake-up.
Paul "Semtex" Daley's KO victory over Dustin Hazelett, not to mention his sharp verbal jabs, raised Daley's profile to possible welterweight contender. In the post-fight press conference Dana White mentioned Jon Fitch and Josh Koscheck as possible opponents for "Semtex". But Jon Fitch was previously reported to be fighting Thiago Alves at UFC 111, which MMA Mania confirmed today.
That leaves Josh Koscheck as a possible opponent for Paul Daley.
Jon Anik auspiciously mentioned the rumor that Daley vs. Koscheck was in the works for May or June in his online chat for MMA Live today.
As of this moment there are two UFC events planned for May; UFC 113 in Montreal on May 1st and UFC 114 in Las Vegas on Memorial Day weekend.
Josh Koscheck was originally slated to fight on UFC 109 against Paulo Thiago but if the rumored Daley fight were to occur it would be safe to assume that the victor would be granted a welterweight title shot.
