Bobby Lashley to fight Yohan Banks

The last fighter of the Strikeforce in Miami fight card has an opponent.
MMA Frenzy passes along a report from MMA Weekly that Bobby Lashley will fight Yohan Banks in his Strikeforce debut.
Banks (2-1) hasn't fought since September of 2008 where he defeated in Michael Diaz at Strikeforce: Young Guns 3.

It was previously rumored that Lashley would fight Shane del Rosario.

LOL...
I have to believe that those rumors of Del Rosario being considered as an opponent for Lashley were complete B.S.
There’s no way you go from considering a top notch prospect like Del Rosario to a guy who’s 2 & 1 and completely off the radar and hasn’t fought in nearly a year & a half.
Yeah I know but I guess you missed the point of my post. I was simply saying that the Del Rosario rumors that everyone was jumping all over were BS.
When an opponent like this is named it means someone the caliber of Del Rosario was never an option.

I got what you meant but from what I understand, Del Rosario was a legitimate possible opponent but the powers that be stepped in and gave Lashley an easier fight. This is EliteXC 2.0 we’re talking about. They need a new Kimbo.
Well to be fair Lashley has a helluva lot more ability than Kimbo ever did, but I get what you mean.
And what’s wrong with as you say “EliteXC 2.0”? I enjoyed EliteXC events.

I’ve met yohan and that pics is old, he looks to be in better shape now and I think he has a good chance to beat lashley. And anyways what does physique matter in MMA, look at guys like fedor and the guy that won the ultimate fighter.
truth be told i have not seen him fight, but i am not basing my “can” comment on his looks.
I am basing it on a 2-1 figher who has not fought in over a year and his last win was against a 1-2 fighter.

well i don’t think it’s fair to call him a can, which seems sorta derogatory, since these small time fighters don’t get to choose their fights and a lot of times get fights when they can. well anyways, yohan’s gonna drop lashley and i’m gonna go on all the boards and laugh at all the ppl that thought lashley was gonna dominate. i mean come on lasley had trouble with jason guida when he was a late replacement for crying out loud
