Let's talk about a criminally underreported (if reported on at all) story coming out of this weekend. No, it's not UFC 122. I'm talking about the 2010 MMA World Expo. The what? I said the 2010 MMA World Expo this weekend in New York City. You mean you haven't heard of it? Clearly people must be writing and advertising the fact that there is an MMA expo in the biggest market unconquered by MMA.
The MMA World Expo, in association with MSG Sports, will take place at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City.on Friday and Saturday, November 12th and 13th. Since MMA is still illegal in New York there will be no MMA fights, but it will feature an 8-man amateur invitation-only Muay Thai tournament in association with Kru Phil Nurse and the WAT training center. In addition to that, Renzo Gracie No-Gi Open which will feature over 60 divisions and a 1000 players as well as a Black Belt Absolute Division with a grand prize of $3,000.
