Greg Jackson and his Fighters win a lot of Bonuses for being "Boring"...
(That bottle of Corona thinks Greg Jackson fighter's are boring too...)
Remember when Dana White called Nate Marquardt a "choker" and said all those Greg Jackson fighters are boring and our more concerned with childish things like safety and winning?
Well, Greg Jackson didn't take too kindly to that and now he is out to prove that his fighters can go Four Loko crazy in order to please the Tapout wearing masses:
"Here's a quick stat for you. So there's been 22 [UFC events] this year? We had 12 bonuses so far this year," Jackson said in a phone interview. "So one out of every two, one of my fighters got Submission of the Night, Knockout of the Night, or Fight of the Night."
It's the kind of statistic he wishes White would have looked at before telling CSN Washington that Jackson's fighters were being too conservative in their efforts, saying, "There's obviously some consistency there with the Jackson camp and being safety-first."
"We sat down and did the math after we heard that," Jackson said. "He wants to say there's a consistency? Okay, let's look at statistical consistencies. Let's look at Jon Jones, who has finished every fight with me in the first round, except for that Matt Hamill one, which would have been a first-round stoppage anyway if he hadn't thrown that illegal elbow.Source: Ben Fowlkes and MMA Fighting
Damn it Greg! Stop using your "facts" and being "reasonable" to puncture Dana White's easily created narrative!
Don't you understand Greg? Dana's trying really, really, really hard to grow this sport and you really shouldn't talk back to him!

Its give and take.
Look at what he did with Nates last fight, with Rashad, with Guillards last fight, with GSP,….
Guys like Guida, Jones, Condit, its hard for Jackson to take credit for because those guys have always been balls to the wall kinda guys before they signed up with him.
When Jacksons fighters fight good, its good. When they fight boring, its the most god awful thing you have ever seen. So it overshadows the former.
I don't think Jackson told Nate to screw around I just think we over estimated him.
I don’t remember Rashad being in a boring since Ortiz/Bisping. And Guillard had one off fight that was boring and kinda sucked.

Guillards strategy though effective, was designed to be downright boring. They wanted to constantly circle, rarely engage, and take the fight to a decision as per their own words.
The only exciting things about Rashad Evans vs Silva/Rampage is when he almost got KTFO in the third round in both fights. Holding down Thiago and wall humping Rampage were enough to get the W, but it wasnt a fight designed to be exciting as per Rashads words.
Evans-Silva
Dreadful fight.

Exactly. Jackson can't take credit for Bones' style or Condit's or Guida's or even Melvin's style

Why would he want to?
I mean Jackson doesn’t have anything to answer for, he heads arguably the best camp in all of MMA. And GSP and Rashad can draw so I don’t see a problem. I don’t know why he’s even addressing Dana’s claim that his fighters are boring anyway it’s pure opinion.

Rashad a draw?
Did you read about the success of UFC 108. Liddell, Forrest, and Rampage were the main attraction.
I think he's a conditional draw
TUF 10 made him a viable star. I dunno what draws have to do with exciting fights though.

He just went about counting all the events to prove Dana wrong
He clearly cares. Hell, I just tried to do it and got bored after Fight Night 20.

Typical argument from the Greg Jackson camp
Just goes out there and play it safe and uses reasoning and facts to score points and cruise to a safe win in the argument instead of going out there like a real rabble-rouser and just railroading a prominent figure in the sport with the baseless, sensationalist accusations that the fans pay to see.

They've had so many bonuses because they've had so many fighters
Looking at pure numbers isn’t really a good indicator. Look at ratios.

Most of those fighters either don't even train primarily at GJG or were exciting/good fighters before joining.

Dana is also right to call him out, I like Greg Jackson but I think for a while there he was getting complacent and alot of guys were having questionable performances. Lately with the exception of Nate The Great, I think the ship is getting righted nothing made me happier than to see him put his foot in Condit’s ass and give him a wake up call. He’s got alot of talented guys on his roster but sometimes the cool and calculated approach has hurt some of his fighters. Sometimes when a big fight is up for grabs you gotta grab the guy, slap him around and tell him to go for the kill and not play it safe. There is a difference between a great gameplan that takes out the opponent and let’s you dominate him than a close fight that fails because you’re trying to play safe Jackson needs to find that balance.
