Frank Trigg Released by the UFC

I think it was the hair Frank photo via www.cdn.sherdog.com

Another one bites the dust.

MMA Junkie reports that the UFC has cut Frank Trigg.

Trigg was knocked out in the first round by Matt Serra. Frank went 0-2 in his return to the UFC, with both fights ending in the first round via (T)KO.

Trigg's release marks the fourth fighter that competed at UFC 109 to be cut from the UFC. Frank is also the second fighter from the pay-per view portion to be cut.

Earlier today it was reported that main event participant Mark Coleman was released as well as preliminary fighters Tim Hague and Phillipe Nover.

Yeah...

But this sucks, was rooting for Trigg to at least do better than this. Hate someone ending their career on such a horrible note.

the weird thing about Trigg in the UFC is that he has a 2-5 record.

Meh, more worthless news WKR. you should make one post of all the people who got axed and updated, no need to waste valuable space of nonesence.

In fairness to us, we don’t know when the AXE of UFC death is coming

Come on, we all, no wait, I don’t want to make a generalization, but most of us know that in just about every card there’s bound to be one that’s going to get cut. So there should be a segment of “AXE Picks” similar to the segment of picking winning fighters and then update it. You’re welcome.

What a bloodbath. I think this is two separate streams of “axing” coming together. Some guys – Nover, Hague – were prospects who just couldn’t cut it. Some guys – Trigg, Coleman – were only brought on board to A) get the last of their name-value and usable fighting skills into the octagon, and if/when they ran out of name and skill, to B) make sure that their pickup by a rival organization (Strikeforce…) would be discredited. Ruthless, but effective.

Especially for Trigg.

We forget that Coleman was signed in ’08 and was suppose to fight Lesnar first at HW

Trigg had a bunch of fights at MW outside of the UFC and lost once.

That WW division has too many sharks
