UFC 110 Pre-Fight Press Conference Notes

- Housekeeping first. UFC 110 sold out in about four hours. UFC programming was averaging 500,000 viewers a week in Australia so Zuffa was confident in heading to the country but couldn't predict 16,000 tickets sold so quickly. There is a viewing party near Acer arena and tickets are available. Fighters weigh-ins will be at 2:00pm local time on Saturday. The Fighter Q&A will be at 12:00pm local time. UFC 110 will be broadcast live in Australia on ONE HD. 

- Dana White believes that there will be an Australian version of the The Ultimate Fighter (there was recently an Australian version of The Contender)

- Due to the initial success of the event Dana believes the UFC will return to Australia 

- Wanderlei didn't know the fight was on Sunday in Australia...

- Speaking of Wanderlei the most entertaining portions of the pre-fight presser came from Silva and Michael Bisping:

"Saturday we are going to have a great show and I am going to kick your ass." ~ Wanderlei Silva

 "I've got nothing but respect for Wanderlei. The respect certainly isn't coming back toward me." ~ Michael Bisping

"You do need to win fights in this business and you [Silva] haven't done that lately" ~ Bisping

Wanderlei explains why he wants to beat Michael saying, "no one likes him."  Bisping responds, "I don't give a (expletive)

- A reporter suggests the nickname "The Mark" for Cain Velasquez. WKR completely endorses this idea! 

- Dana White mentions Toronto. I guess no one told him yet what happened today in Ontario...

- Elvis Sinosic appear to have a black eye under his left eye but does a good job of selling the hometown fight and explaining the sport and its evolution to the local press. Win or lose Sinosic could be a valuable ambassador for the MMA and the UFC in Australia.

- Dana says that the winner of Silva vs. Bisping wouldn't be ready in time for UFC 112 and that Chael was too beat up. Demian Maia is good to go despite the eye cut. Kevin Iole asks White about the stylistic similarities between Maia and Thales Leites and whether he is worried of a repeat of UFC 97. Dana brushes it off.

- Yoshihiro Akiyama will be at the autograph session. Who wants to bet on a cutaway to "Sexyama" during the Silva-Bisping fight?

- Reporter says that there are a lot of Croatian immigrants in Australia and wants to know about Mirko Filipovic. Dana White says that Mirko is still trying to find his "head".

- Joe Stevenson wasn't there due to other obligations so George poses by himself during the "stare down" photo segment. It looks sort of depressing.
