Oh No! Jose Canseco eating diner with Scott Coker

  Jose-canseco-striekforce_medium
(NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! DON'T DO IT SCOTT!! IT'S A TRAP!!!)

WKR has been loathed to talk about Jose Canseco. Look, we're grateful that he spoke truth about PED's in baseball, but like a drug informant from Baltimore, we really aren't thrilled to see him pop up asking for money (what does that say about us?).

That's why WKR has dutifully ignored Canseco's pleas for a MMA fight with Herschel Walker despite being fodder for other blogs and the mainstream press. But this picture, tweeted by Canseco, can't be brushed aside because it appears that Showtime is making Coker and company are seriously considering grabbing Jose.

WKR thinks we speak for MMA fans who have a functioning cerbral cortex when we say, "Really? Really?! REALLY?! WORST IDEA EVER."

Bouts I would watch before Walker vs. Canseco, but just barely:

Thales Leites (from UFC 97) vs. Houston Alexander (from TUF 10 Finale)
A guy with no arms vs. a guy with no legs
Cyborg Santos vs. Jens Pulver
Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz III

I’d rather watch Liddell work out in the nude.

it's not walker vs canseco. it's canseco vs fedor.

I'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. I was building a house, I don't deserve this, deserves have nothing to do with it. Bang. "Unforgiven" I drink your milkshake. I drink it up! "There Will BE Blood"

If that’s the case, Frank Mir will be pissed. He wanted to cause the first death in MMA, not Fedor.

frank mir is still going to be pissed b/c when he losses to a (100%) healthy brock lesnar

his career would be over and his only option is commentating or playgirl magazine. he so vain, he probably thinks this post is about him.

While I don't think it would look especially good for MMA

if Jose wants to fight, who am I to say he can’t? Now, if Strikeforce signs him that is another situation entirely, especially if they’re looking to challenge the UFC like they seemed to think they were about 6 months ago. That would be either A.) completely bush league, something you’d expect from Adrenaline, or B.) Japanese. I’m all for freakshow fights, but this isn’t what Strikeforce needs right now. If this happens I think this will be the defining moment in the end of Strikeforce. Look for Bellator to acquire all the prospects the UFC doesn’t sign. I would love to see Tyron Woodley in this years Bellator tourney but I think Strikeforce sticks around for at least another year.
