Strikeforce: Miami Live Gate

MMA Weekly reports that Strikeforce: Miami drew an audience of 7,010 spectators for a total gate was $301,424.6. Approximately 2,083 tickets were comped for an estimated value of $238,511.52.

Strikeforce's total disclosed payroll for their Miami show was $469,600 for a difference of $168,000. 

MMA Weekly adds,

The Florida State Boxing Commission also reported that Strikeforce received a $700,000 "Broadcast, Television, or Motion Picture" rights fee, as well as $8,003 from "Programs, Souvenirs, and Concession" sales.

I thought this was pretty bad until I saw that $700,000 payday from Showtime. Plus, Showtime probably covered the lion’s share of production costs as well. All in all, Strikeforce probably made a tiny profit.

One lesson that should be learned though, is to stick to promoting fights in CA. It’s their home base and they draw really well there. I don’t think Strikeforce is big enough or known enough to venture across country yet and that gate proves it.
