Roger Huerta emerges from Thailand and will go to Bellator

Roger Huerta has emerged from his Thai vacation to (reportedly) sign with Bellator. Apparently all Huerta needed was a little Pad Thai while training Muay Thai to clear his head and refocus on fighting.
It was originally rumored that Huerta would sign with Strikeforce. If Roger ends up signing with Bellator over Strikeforce --press conference today at 3pm ET-- it would mark the first time that a former UFC fighter and top free agent signed with Bellator over Strikeforce.
It was also reported that the UFC has the right to match any offer until November.
WKR is torn about this decision. On one hand we love the move for both Bellator and Huerta as it would put Roger on a collision course with Jorge Masvidal or better yet Eddie Alvarez, while Bellator adds a star to their roster. But there is a part of us that wished Huerta would end up in Strikeforce fighting Josh Thomson, K.J. Noons or being shared with DREAM.
Ultimately, the fact that we are even having these feelings shows how much depth there is at 155lbs.
Update: Roger "El Matador" Huerta has signed an exclusive contract with Bellator.
Huerta will be apart of the season two lightweight tournament and he will make his Bellator debut on April 8th in Hollywood, Florida.
Update #2: Huerta talked to Sherdog to explain why he picked Bellator:
"Bellator provided me with a sense of security," Huerta told Sherdog.com on Monday. "I control my own destiny in the tournament. The winner gets to face one of the best lightweight fighters in the world -- that's the goal. If I lose, then it's my fault. It's on me and I can deal with that."
...
“I know I’ll have a target on my back and that these guys will be fighting with everything they’ve got when they meet me,” he said. “I’m going to be facing these guys at their best.”
...
“I know it’s going to be hard because I have to win the three fights, but I’m giving myself more fights if I win,” said Huerta. “It’s up to me, and I like the sound of that.”

I wish training in Thailand for 3 months
could turn Huerta into some LW striking god, and make his MT > BJ’s boxing… but sadly that’s not the case. I’ve always liked Huerta and will definitely be rooting for him in Bellator’s tourney.

Even if he spent 24 hours a day training for the entire 3 months
he still wouldn’t be a better striker than BJ. Maybe a year of hardcore training, who knows…
