The Germans will not Tolerate, Half-Naked, Bloody Men on Television

(Who knew that the Germans had moved past that whole 'blood and iron' thing.)
Last summer, the UFC made their Germanic debut and it was noticeable that there wasn't the typical post-event back slapping and congratulations that usually occurs when the UFC opens a new market. In fact the German media threw out barb wire instead of welcoming mats in both the run-up and aftermath of the fight (the blood didn't help see above). Eight months later and the Germans have said "NEIN!" to the UFC on television:
The Ultimate Fighting Championship has been banned from German television. The Bavarian state office for new media (BLM) revoked the promotion's broadcast clearance on Thursday for programming including "The Ultimate Fighter," "UFC Unleashed" and "UFC Fight Night," which had been televised on German sports television channel DSF since March 2009.
"The committee deems that television formats characterized by the extend of violence shown to be unacceptable," read a statement from the BLM. The BLM also described the programming as a "breach of taboos like punching a downed opponent," which is illegal under article 111a of the Bavarian constitution. The paragraph deals with the glorification of violence in the media.
After reading that did anyone else feel like they just jumped in their Delorean and went back to 1998?
So, the UFC, and MMA by extension, glorifies violence. Have the Germans seen a Hollywood action movie in the past 30 years?

I’m pretty sure prostitution is legal in Germany and they have a moral objection to MMA? Damn
R.I.P Darren Sutherland
not to be a dick or anything....but.....
I think you mean “homes” as short for “homeboy” not short for “johnny holmes” …. or maybe you know something about Hellsing that most people don’t.
Wow, hittting a downed opponent is illegal according to their constitution? How did the UFC ever get an event approved in the first place?
