Strikeforce: Nashville is official because there is a poster

Nashville_11x17_medium

Strikeforce officially announced their Nashville event, which is scheduled for April 17th on CBS.

According to CBS executive Kelly Kahl the network is considering only the three title fights for the televised portion of the card, as they must make allowances for three 25 minute fights. It was rumored that CBS was hoping to include Herschel Walker on the card.

  • Champ Jake Shields vs. Dan Henderson (for middleweight title)
  • Champ Gegard Mousasi vs. "King Mo" Muhammad Lawal (for light heavyweight title)
  • Strikeforce Champ Gilbert Melendez vs. DREAM Champ Shinya Aoki (for Strikeforce lightweight title).

I like it. Doesnt look cheap or cheesy.

I'm gonna make a bold prediction here and say Cain "pillowhands" (as some of you have called him) lol Velasquez catches Nog right on the chin and finishes via strikes on the ground. Nog looked good against an old Randy. It didn't show me much. We’ll see.

  • Like the Poster!
  • Love the 3 main events.
  • Like the fact that Mousasi left M-1 because it would have sucked if we only got to see him fight when Fedor fights. Really looking forward to Mousasi vs. Lawal. Gegard is as exciting as it gets.
  • The Strikeforce commentating team makes me REALLY appreciate the duo of Goldberg and Rogan.

I wonder if they’ll put a women’s fight on, they almost always seems to be the best fight of the night. I hope they get toughhill vs gyna. I’ll doubt gyna will fight as she’s busy doing movies…

Man great to see that sf and dream are putting their top teir guys at it. it should be an insteresting fight as gilbert has never faced anyone as aoki and aoki hasn’t face anyone as good a wrestler as gilbert. When gilbert whoops that ass, people please stop saying that aoki should fight bj. I just hope aoki doesn’t resort to dragging his ass on the floor like a dog like he did against alvarez if he can’t get it to the ground even though gilbert will gnp him into a tko.

Dam, king mo already has a tittle shot, damn, f-it I got Hendo via tko in the second, King Mo via tko in the second, and gilbert tko in late round two as aoki’s a sneaky bastard.

I forgot, WEC’s PPV will suffer greatly from this as I don’t see how an MMA fan will pay $45 for a WEC card when they can get a stacked FREE card. WEC’s will perhaps take a huge loss and back to being “free.”
