Cheick Kogno Breaks a Few Rules but Dominates Paul Buentello
The second fight of the evening was a bizarre affair to say the least.
Paul Buentello suffered a dislocated pinkie, while Kongo twice kneed a downed opponent and was deducted, and a black cat ran across the mat. Okay, the last one didn't happen.
The constant stoppages and sudden start-ups created a frantic pace for the fight but it also made the crowd restless, which wasn't helped by Kongo's smart gameplan. It is no secret that Buentello has little takedown defense nor much of a ground game and Cheick Kongo, let me write that again, CHEICK KONGO, exploited it to a tee.
In the third round Paul tapped due to strikes but he had already taken a lot of damage and his pinkie probably looked like this.
