Not having seen much of the publicity/leak material in question, I think you guys are missing something pretty important here – Soderberg is an extremely skilled filmmaker and willing to try unusual things that have often had huge payoffs. I mean, his first picture was “Sex Lies and Videotape” and in “The Limey” he re-used footage of a much earlier Terence Stamp picture with amazing effects, and that’s not even counting little weird things he’s done like Schizopolis, Kafka and Bubble. Now, whether her charisma comes across in an acting role or not, there’s no denying that Carano is extremely photogenic – not just on a ‘hot chick’ level but she has real camera presence on a level that a lot of excellent actors just lack. Combine these factors with Soderberg’s proven track record of making conventional action genre work as well as anyone (Out of Sight, The Limey, Oceans 11) and the strength of the surrounding cast and I’m betting that this thing has a much better chance of finding a real audience that any Hector Fucking Eschevarria direct-to-DVD p.o.s.. The guy just has an eye for talent and way of working with actors that you can’t credit hacks like H.F.E. and Michael Bay with – hell, he’s definitely superior in that respect to Ridley Scott and particularly James Cameron. Yes, I know Cameron is the most successful movie director ever by some standards, but that doesn’t mean his most successful movies are actually any, y’know, good. Basically fuck Titanic and double-fuck Avatar, IMHO.

I got a hit movie for her.
Call it “The Tease” where she just makes shy/cute faces, bites lip, smiles, looks down pretty much the whole movie. I’d watch that…

You guys are silly. Gina has what’s called The IT Factor. Ever heard of it?
She does have natural charisma but it remains to be seen if it can transfer onto the big screen. I won’t make any assumptions until I see the trailer.

I thought that was our basic conclusion or did I hit the bottle too hard during the podcast?

Well, listening to the 1st part it seemed like you guys had a hard time pin pointing it.
He just said she was hot with a great smile.
It’s her 1st time so I’m not expecting anything spectacular. It’s VERY unique that a well respected director would cast a female athlete as his lead. He must have seen something special in Gina. Who know? I’m nervous for her too.

well, we talk about the Sasha Grey casting for his last film so it fits Soderbergh’s recent record
In my opinion, Gina’s IT factor is more of a blend of next girl “awww shucks” rather than media mogul if that makes sense?

Yeah, it makes sense….good job btw on the podcast.
Here’s a clip I found on youtube, not sure what’s being said because it’s in spanish.
