WEC 47 is Tonight! WKR will be there & you better watch it!

Torress

While WEC 47's hype may have been blown up by James Toney and the talk around April 17th WKR wants you to know why you should care about this card and why you need to watch it.

- WEC 47 features SIX of the top-ten SBN Consensus ranked bantamweights and FOUR of the top-five. That fact alone makes this fight card one of, if not, the most talent laden cards of early 2010.

- A title fight between Brian Bowles and Dominick Cruz. While it might not have the name value that some fans require to get excited this fight has all the makings of a WEC classic.

- Can Miguel Torres rebound? Anytime a fighter completely changes their camp you have to wonder how that will affect their cage presence. Also Benavidez is a tough, tough fighter. Hell, both of his nipples are pierced.

- Jens Pulver's sweet shirt.

- This may be Jens Pulver's last fight (though he said he had no plans on retiring).

- A victory for lightweight Karen Darabedyan will most likely vault the Armenian fighter into the upper echelon of WEC lightweights. That means that Karen may be fighting Donald Cerrone, Ben Henderson or Jamie Varner in the near future, possibly for a title.

- Scott Jorgensen will hopefully smash Chad George and make the televised broadcast. A win will also elevate Scott from #6 at 135lbs. into the top-five of the division. With an impressive victory Jorgensen will most likely be one fight away from a title shot.

- Leonard Garcia better Falcon Punch! George Roop across the Olentangy River.

- Chad Mendes will make his WEC debut. There is a reason why Sherdog labeled Chad Mendes a top prospect back in 2009. For those not familiar with Chad think of him as the featherweight Phil Davis. Some believe that this All-American wrestler will be a future star at 145lbs. In his senior year Mendes was undefeated before being upset in the NCAA finals. Chad is already 5-0 in MMA and will have a legitimate test against Erik Koch (currently ranked #23).

Quick housekeeping note: Zak and Zach will be in attendance. If you'd like to meet up shoot us a tweet at twitter.com/watchkalibrun.
