Dana White tells Unintentional Jokes on Jim Rome

Dana-white-stand-uo_medium

(What is the deal with lying? I mean honestly? You tell one lie and then you got to go and tell a bigger lie to get people to believe you? I mean, what's with that?)

Dana White told Jim Rome that he would cut Anderson Silva if he broke out the cha-cha during a fight again:

I'll tell you this: If he ever acts like that again in the ring, I will cut him. I don't care if he's the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, I don't care if he is the middleweight champion. I will cut him, absolutely."

Oh boy this is rich.  Man you are, I mean, you are just too funny.*wipes tear away* You should be a stand-up comic.

That was a joke right? No?

Oh.

It would be bizarre. But… <insert “it’s a business” argument here>

I don’t think there’s anything unintentionally funny here, Andy is not a draw and if he sabotages another fight the UFC would have every right and fan support to release his ass.

the ufc has invested millions in silva

and let’s be honest here, he’s not gsp or brock, but he is a draw. there is simply no way the ufc would do that. but it was a truly stupid thing to say, i expect silva to clown sonnen just as badly as he did maia.

and now that i think of it, what are the odds that strikeforce has been making a few offers to what silva could be making should he suddenly be released from his ufc contract?

He isn’t a draw his history on ppv is clear and if Andy ever pulls that crap again he will be gone did people forget how Fitch was cut and humbled by the UFC in a week.

Secondly it would just be like SF to try and sign Andy after he basically committs career suicide in your scenario because it would be yet another nail in the coffin of a company running on borrowed time.
