Where were Aoki's compression shorts, knee and ankle sleeves?

Photo by Esther Lin via Showtime

Shinya Aoki might not be allowed to wear his magical technicolor grappling pants (soon to be the title of next year's breakout Broadway play) but most observers assumed the DREAM lightweight champion would wear compression shorts, ankle and knee sleeves lovingly referred to by WKR as "Sotiropants".

Yet, there were no sotiropants. Not even a single ankle sleeve.

What gives?

WKR couldn't find out the reason but rumor has it the Tennessee Athletic Commission wouldn't let Aoki dress up. Not like it would've matter. Actually, it would have made Aoki quicker as he butt scooted across the mat.

In GA he could have wore them, he could even have grip in the crotch (Illegal in most states).
