Dana White has some words for Gus Johnson
Dana White would has some stern words for Gus Johnson:
"When have you seen anything remotely close to that happen at a UFC event?" White said. "What kind of ridiculous commentary was that? That was an idiotic thing to say. And then he was yelling at them to stop, telling them they are on national television. That was just another example of how bush league they are."
White is right, Gus used a poor choice of words with his "sometimes this happens in MMA" when in reality it happens in sports in general. The difference is, when MMA enters the conversation, old guard media members like to say "the controversial sport once called 'human cockfighting'" which kind of dampens the mood (thanks a lot John McCain for that quote).
So, Gus Johnson is about to become the scorn of a large segment of MMA fans (but he is Al Harrington and he gets buckets!) and that's fine. It happens in sports where an announcer becomes unpopular with a fan base and MMA fans are very fickle and protective of the sport they love. WKR is cool with that reality because we like other sports and will continue loving Gus Johnson for moments like this.
Besides he never told us Shane Carwin had 12 knockout wins...

Hey Dana, about 3 and half years ago?
How about when Coleman broke Shoguns arm and Wanderlei Silva ran across the ring to fight him?
So 2006.
seems like MMA = UFC in Dana's mind
and I for one agree with John McCain. MMA is human cockfighting. The children must not see it. PROTECT THE CHILDREN.
