Nick Diaz head to the 'Land of the Rising Sun' to fight Sakurai
Hey, this DREAM-Strikeforce marriage, relationship, friends with benefits thing is actually pretty cool.
The latest fighter to be shared between the promotions is Strikeforce welterweight champion, Nick Diaz, who will head to Japan to fight Hayato Sakurai in a non-title bout at DREAM.15.
Diaz will be the second Strikeforce fighter to fight in Japan since the two promotions began sharing talent earlier this year. Previously, K.J. Noons defeated Andre Amado at DREAM.13.
DREAM has already sent several fighters stateside to compete in Strikeforce. In fact, Diaz knocked out DREAM welterweight champion, Marius Zaromskis, to win the Strikeforce welterweight title. The two MMA promotions will also co-promote a lightweight title fight between Gilbert Melendez and Shinya Aoki on Strikeforce's CBS card.
DREAM.15 is scheduled for May 30th and marks the beginning of the promotion's light heavyweight tournament.
