In "What if..." Matchmaking News
When Forrest Griffin withdrew from the Antonio Rogerio Nogueira fight, Michael David Smith wrote that the UFC should put Jon Jones in as a replacement.
In a perfect world the fight would have happened (it's not) but WKR didn't believe for a second the UFC would honestly consider placing the star in the making in a fight against Rogerio on five weeks notice and we were totally wrong! Kevin Iole wrote that the UFC did in fact offer Jones the fight but he passed on it as he hadn't been in the gym "since his win over Brandon Vera."
WKR believes we speak for everyone when he say, "NOOOOOOOOOOO!"
In more "eccentric" news, Dave Meltzer wrote that Kimbo Slice passed on a fight with James Toney:
[Kimbo Slice] didn't want to fight James Toney, who he possibly could have beaten in a fight that would have meant something. And his knees are shot and he doesn't know how to defend low kicks, which is a bad combination. The high price tag was also a factor.
This would have been the freakiest, freak fight since the bearded lady and Jay Leno teamed up to fight the wolf boys in a tag team cage match, with Kendra Wilkinson as ring girl.
What? That only happened in my mind after a three day peyote trip in the mountains of Arizona?
*looks awkwardly at the computer*
Never mind then...
But we could still a good freak show as CBS might be interested in putting on a Herschel Walker-Kimbo Slice three ring circus later this year.

In my perfect world
Shogun vs anderson. Rampage vs machida. Rashad vs lil nog. Jon jones vs luis cane. Forrest vs chuck. Randy vs rich franklin. Roy nelson vs frank mir. Dan hardy vs nate diaz. Thiago alves vs paul daley (I kno). And. James toney vs. Gonzaga
all of those are awsome
with maybe the exception of Toney/Gonzaga. I’m apparently the only one that thinks Toney should be fighting a no name. That way when they beat him he won’t have the honor of being beaten by a legitimately good mixed martial artist

Part of the fun was coming to this site and seeing how violently I disagreed with everything he wrote

Well its hard not having someone who knows very little about mma as a writer on the blog. I really enjoyed ripping his views and predictions
