Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery Results

Strikeforce-_heavy_artillery_medium

Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery takes place tonight in St. Louis.

The main event features the long awaited Strikeforce heavyweight title defense of Alistair Overeem as he faces off against Brett Rogers aka that guy who did pretty well for a round against Fedor.

In the co-main event Andrei Arlovksi looks to rectify his chin issues and prove that his head is still in the game, in part thanks to a new girlfriend (that is not a joke) when he faces off against Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva.

Also, that really good grappler guy nicknamed "Jacare" (that mean's alligator in Portuguese) is on the card too.

Main Card

  • Champ Alistair Overeem def. Brett Rogers via TKO - Round 1, 3:40. Overeem retains heavyweight title.
  • Antonio Silva def. Andrei Arlovski via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
  • Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza def. Joey Villasenor via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).
  • Roger Gracie def. Kevin Randleman via submission (rear-naked choke) - Round 2, 4:10.
  • Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante def. Antwain Britt via TKO (strikes) - Round 1, 3:45.

Good now we can see overeem vs fedor. could be interesting.

I'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. I was building a house, I don't deserve this, deserves have nothing to do with it. Bang. "Unforgiven" I drink your milkshake. I drink it up! "There Will BE Blood". Hell is just a word, the reality is much much worse." Event Horizon". Now remember, when things look bad and it looks like you're not gonna make it, then you gotta get mean, I mean plumb, mad dog mean. cause if you lose your head and you give up then you neither live or win. That's just the way it is. "The Outlaw Josey Wales". "And that's just what these hustlers look for. They cruise from casino to casino looking for weak dealers the way lions look for weak antelope". Fedor should turn this fight down unless Overeem admits to taking steroids.

Didn't get to see it

I watched the UFC thing instead, and man, I love the Korean Zombie vs Garcia. That might have been my new fav fight, but they just showed Frye vs Takayama again on Best of PRIDE, nuff said.

Just watched it

How is it that Brett looked pretty damn good against Fedor til he got dropped, but looked pretty damn terrible last night?

Fedor was less aggressive than Ubereem

Brett talked about applying pressure and apparently that was his own weakness.

Absolutely nothing on the ground.

I really wanted to see the Beerbohm-shaolin fight. They still had 20 minutes left on the broadcast according to my on-screen guide. Would have loved to see that :(

Brett looked way better against Fedor. i think it’s cause he shaved his frohawk for the Reem fight. the frohawk is his source of power.
