Shine Fights 3 Canceled due to Shine Fights not Don King
In the aftermath of Don King's legal beatdown and money under the mattress payment Shine Fights 3 was canceled by the North Carolina Athletic Commissions for unknown reasons -- until now. MMA Junkie is reporting that Shine Fights failed to complete the necessary steps in order to hold an event in North Carolina.
The North Carolina Boxing Authority canceled the May 15 event - scheduled for Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, N.C. - because Shine Fights officials did not provide the remainder of a bond required to cover fighter purses and did not provide a ringside physician, an official said.
Shine CEO Devin Price was upbeat about fighter's compensation when he talked to Kevin Iole, saying,
"We are in the process of working out how the fighters will be paid, how much that will be. But we're a fighter's organization and we're going to take care of them."
Now there's word that the promotion didn't complete a bond with the N.C. Athletic Commission to cover fighter's salaries.
It's no wonder that Mauricio "Shogun" Rua --Mauricio's brother, Murilo, was fighting on the card-- voiced his opinion on the matter of fighter pay:

Well, it was fun while it lasted Shine. Actually, no it wasn't. I went to your first event with my ex and I totally want to forget it.

Can we still blame Don King?
