Gilbert Melendez vs. Eddie Alvarez? Yes Please!

Wvx2f7_medium

Strikeforce and Bellator are both flirting in "I am three drinks in and feeling horny" manner with the possibility of a Gilbert Melendez-Eddie Alvarez fight (Hey Bellator, this would be a SUPER! fight). Truth be told the prospect of these two fighting makes WKR feel all warm in fuzzy inside in that MMA sort of way.

The question is where/when/how the fight would go down. Would it be a Strikeforce event or a Bellator event? Would the promotions combine and hold a Strikeforce vs. Bellator event and create a few more rival promotion bouts? In WKR's opinion the dream scenario would be a Melendez-Alvarez fight as a co-main event for a CBS card. Who knows if that will actually happen but one thing is quickly becoming, Strikeforce is doing a good job of working with other promotions to put on the best fights they can. Obviously there have been hiccups, most notably Alistair Overeem's prolonged absence and M-1 being M-1, but besides that the DREAM co-promotion has worked out pretty well for Strikeforce and fans who want to watch fights for free.
