Jason MacDonald's leg just went Joe Theisman on us

In the UFC 113 hangover, we commented on Jason MacDonald's ugly leg injury. Let's just say that after watching it, it really does five Joe Theisman a run for his money.
MacDonald described the injury on his Twitter account, "Broken tibia and fibia and dislocated ankle.Surgery tomorrow night." Even if the UFC doesn't cut MacDonald --a fighter brought in on short notice-- he's going to be out of action for so long he might as well be cut.

Update: MacDonald described the surgery that was done to prepare the break to MMA Weekly:
"I had three bad breaks -- two on the joint of the fibula, the other was the tibia which was snapped clean off," said MacDonald. "I ended up with 12 screws, four steel plates, which are permanent, and two bigger screws that are holding the ligament in place, which will hopefully be removed in three months."

Jesus Zak have you even seen the Theisman clip? This is NOWHERE near as nasty. Very bad…sure. But on Theisman’s level? Um, no chance. This isn’t even tops in the UFC. Bang’s and Corey Hill’s leg injury rank way higher. Crocop’s looked worse, but he was’t even hurt.
That being said, I hope The Athlete has a full and speedy recovery. I believe he has a blog with his local paper, so maybe he can provide some insight during the recovery for his injury.
