Same Old Story. Chuck Liddell KO'd by Rich Franklin at UFC 115

via fightlinker

Coming into UFC 115 Chuck Liddell was suppose to be a new man and if you looked at his abdomen he certainly looked like a reformed individual. UFC president Dana White commented as such and UFC announcer Joe Rogan told the Spike audience that "[Liddell] hasn't had a drop to drink (of alcohol) in 9 months," as further proof of a new Liddell.

Alas, in the fight game, what you are in the cage, not on the media tour, is the true metric of change. Tonight in Vancouver it was the same old story for Chuck Liddell -- knocked out lying on the canvas.

Liddell did look good at first as he stunned Franklin with a punch. In fact, Franklin said in the post-fight interview that he broke his arm during the fight. But Rich was able to land a big right hand that knocked Liddell out cold.

In the lead up to the fight, Dana White said that a loss for Chuck would mean retirement. The same thing was said after UFC 97 so the question now is whether or not Liddell will bow out this time or return again after an extended hiatus.
