He is a project...
First, he can’t compete at heavyweight. He is 5’11" and needs to be fighting at 205. He is packing way too much table muscle and needs a lot more cardio.
Second, he needs to get into a camp that has great grapplers and forget about kick boxing for quite a while. He has the physical build to be a great grappler.
Third, it’s great that he is a nice guy, but he needs to realize that ANYONE standing across from him in the cage is trying to steal his money and he needs to act accordingly.
I am a big fan, but I would really like to see him fulfill the potential I think he has.
GOD DAMNIT PAT BARRY
Twice you could’ve finished him. Once you WOULD’VE. and yet you let him back into his career….
Note, every time a fighter doesn’t go rush in for the kill, there’s usually a solid explanation.
- Silva vs. Leites: Silva said when he had top position he was hitting Leites elbows and hurting h is hands, so he stopped.
- Pat Barry vs. Cro Crop: Barry broke his right hand with the 2nd punch that cause Cro-Cop’s face to swell up.
I don’t agree that Barry could have finish Cro-Cop with that first drop, Cro-Cop got up really quickly and Barry’s ground game is really poor.

I guess that is why...
he didnt swarm Cro Cop after that second knockdown… I was screaming at the television. He could have ended it right there.
