Dana White Has No Issue With Condit-MacDonald Stoppage
In a night that saw one of the biggest blown calls made by a referee in recent memory, Dana White had nothing to complain about in regard to Kevin Dornan's decision to step in on Rory MacDonald's behalf. Even with seconds left in the fight, White had no issue with the stoppage.
"I'm the first one to blast a referee or a judge for making bad calls," White said. "In my opinion, referees aren't looking at the time. They could give a s--t what time it is or how much time is left. They're there to protect the fighters."
MacDonald was likely up on the scorecards, having multiple takedowns in rounds 1 and 2. Although he inflicted little damage on the ground, his striking along with the takedowns all but assured him taking the first two rounds. Condit was undoubtedly well aware of this, and came off the stool a different fighter.

my only reason for disagreeing with the stoppage is because condit landed 2 shots consecutively and then hugged macdonald… that’s not a barrage where he wasn’t defending himself, or an excessive beating. the third round as a whole was an excessive beating, but that particular exchange wasn’t worth stopping the fight over.

I'm going to start being the BE or KidNate of commenters, I'm just going to copy and paste your comments and say "I agree & Dana White sucks!"
He was beating Condit in every way right up until Condit clipped him with one good right, and it was all downhill from there. It was like Condit just reached into his chest and stole his heart. I hope that doesn’t become a recurring problem for him, cause he looked AWESOME for the first 11 minutes or so.
its an interesting argument. I for one think collect damage/punishment should be taken into account while time should not be

yea
It could be argued that Condit did more damage in each round

I thought that even on the ground when Macdonald was on top, it could be argued that condit was winning. It reminded me of Jason Day vs Alan Belcher, he was doing a lot of damage from the bottom, and was in NO danger what-so-ever.
Was this a type of fight where the fighter on bottom was winning?
I would have to say that if there was a 4th round i wouldn’t see macdonald winning the fight but if it went to a decision he probably would’ve taken it
