Gilbert Melendez has a Broken Hand
Did anyone else miss Gilbert Melendez's broken hand or were we just caught in a Youtube loop of death thanks to the Judo World Cup yesterday?
"I said, 'Look, the situation with Gilbert is he broke his hand in his last fight, so he's out right now. He's going to be out, probably until the fall. So this is something we can readdress. We are open to fighting other fighters in other leagues."
Dave Meltzer also comments that Melendez will need surgery on the hand and will be out for some time.
Did this happen in training or was it two months ago at the Aoki fight brawl in Nashville? Seems like an awful long time to wait for surgery on your hand. Not like those are important and all...

hm...
Broken hand 2 months ago and he still needs surgery?
Somehow…. I just don’t believe this is correct. Coker has to have his info wrong, there’s no way an athlete of his caliber is stupid enough to sit on a broken hand for 2 months THEN figure out it needs surgery.
Unless maybe it wasn’t that bad and he went back to training an rebroke it or something
Even a broken clock is right two times a day.
