Urijah Faber dropping in weight, perhaps in part due to the Aldoraptor mauling that took his leg

Urijah Faber told Pro MMA Radio that he's dropping down to bantamweight and it's not due to the fact that he's now missing a good chunk of his leg from an Aldoraptor mauling. Instead Faber hints at organizational pressure as the reason for the move down:

 "From the sound of things, they want me to go down to 35. It's something I've wanted to do for a long time -- go down and have some fights down there. So, I'll probably have a couple of fights down there and maybe go back up to 45; we're not real sure yet."

It will be interesting to see if the WEC tries to insert Faber into the bantamweight title mix, say, a fight against Takeya Mizugaki as a warm-up before a title eliminator match, or if they favor the super fight of Miguel Torres vs. Faber. Unfortunately that potential fight has lost its shine and the loser could be in real dire straights. The move might not be unexpected but it is still intriguing.
