Tito Ortiz prepared to beat "son" to get title back, but in a nice way
"Matt, I’m sorry. Business is business, though. It sucks, but this is business. *pause* [The] UFC made the decision, I was bummed, I love Matt. I think he’s an awesome athlete and he’s an awesome person. You won’t see any shit-talking from me about Matt Hamill because I think he’s an awesome guy, but it’ll make it even a better fight when it comes October 23 when I cave his face in. No bad feelings. No bad emotions. Just punishment."
Tito Ortiz is ready to go to war in the cage against a fighter he took under his wing and considered "like a son" less than a few years ago Matt Hamill. Make no mistake, this is the fight game and you can possibly end up fighting against a good friend, however with the depth at light heavyweight, the match-up seems questionable.
Tito is quick to point out that the "UFC made the decision" which isn't too hard to believe once you consider the Anderson Silva-Lyoto Machida questions of last year and Dana White's obsession with pitting AKA teammates Jon Fitch and Josh Koscheck against each other. I don't see how Matt Hamill (who comes off as an emotional guy) will be able to muster up the "fighting spirit" needed to beat a workhorse like Tito (and vice versa), who he cared about so deeply. Fights between friends tend to be less-exciting than others.
The actual match-up is a decent one. Both men are great wrestlers though Hamill has all but abandoned that for a schoolyard bully striking game. He will need to brush up on his wrestling because T-Rex Tito will be looking to take him down. Hopefully this time Tito is at 100% and there are no excuses if he happens to lose to Hamill. HAHA, what am I saying? Tito? No excuses? That's like asking Dana White not to curse. Tito Ortiz will take on Matt Hamill on an already stacked UFC 121 on October 23rd, headlined by UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar taking on Cain Velasquez.

Just don’t tell that to Scott Smith and Pete Sell…
I hate Fedor fans. Then again, I hate most people. But especially Fedor fans.

i think tito may beat him but i will be rooting for hamill all the way, guess we’ll see how tito’s back surgery has affected him
I disagree
I think Tito loses, and then “retires” again or comes up with another excuse of how he went into the fight injured.. But, he’s not taking anything away from anyone! He’s just sayin’, like he always does.
I hope he gets a fight after this either way
Once (if) we see Tito get a second fight in a row without injury or huge layoff, then we shall all really know where he is at.
