Daley suspended for 30 days for piss-poor post-fight punch

According to Sherdog, MMA suckerpunch extraordinaire has been suspended for 30 days for his attempted punch of Josh Koscheck.
Former UFC welterweight Paul Daley has been suspended for 30 days for punching Josh Koscheck following the final bell of their UFC 115 contender’s bout on May 8 in Montreal, according to Collette Lepianay, information agent for the Governing Body of Alcohol, Races and Games of Quebec (RACJ), which oversees combat sports in the province.
Daley’s disciplinary action was handed down at a meeting held by the regulatory agency on Tuesday, said Lepianay. According to Lepianay, Daley did not attend the meeting, as he’d agreed to the suspension and wasn’t going to contest it.
Lepianay couldn’t confirm if the 30-day suspension would be retroactive or if it would commence on Tuesday.
Daley is scheduled to face Jorge Masvidal at Shark Fights 13 on Sept. 11 at the Amarillo Civic Center Coliseum in Amarillo, Texas -- 33 calendar days from Tuesday.
So it looks like his Shark Fights fight is still on.

Its a conspiracy maaaaan
My guess would be that the Governing Body of Alcohol, Races and Games of Quebec (RACJ) wasn’t prepared for such a thing given that MMA is not legal in the province itself.
The only thing that takes longer than a bureaucratic process is a bureaucracy without a process.
But don’t take my word for it, I’m just a stoner :-)

That’s ridiculous. 30 days for post-fight assault. Fuck Daley.

30 days is enough, he had adrenaline flowin and koschek was talkin mad shit during the last minutes of the fight because he knew he was going to win, now if daley did that before fight even started like a heath herring incident, then i would say give more than 30 days, these guys have so much emotion about fighting so when someone loses and it is rubbed in their face by their opponent then it must be hard to restrain themself, cut the guy some slack
u got rec’d for disagreeing, wow more morons here than i thought, u wanna add a little to that, im trying to generate discussion

Koscheck blocked it
If Kos didn’t catch it coming at the last second he woulda been knocked out cold. Only reason people feel pity is becuase of Kos’ reflexes.

What a joke
30 days? This ruling doesn’t make sense because most fighters only fight a few times a year anyway. In order for this to be effective, the suspension would need to conflict with an upcoming fight…which it doesn’t.
What the hell is he suspended from exactly? Bar-fighting from now until his next MMA match?
If they wanted to truly punish him (like he deserves in my opinion), they’d have fined him and/or suspended him for 6 months or so.

30 days!? why even bother suspending him at all?
wasn’t Paul Harris suspended 90 for holding onto a sub too long?
sherk 6 monthes for roids?
and Daley’s action was worse than both of those. gg Montreal.
