Dave Bautista: I wish the MMA media would spell my f%in' name right
On the verge of a deal with Strikeforce, Dave Bautista has some harsh words for the MMA media and fans.
"It's not that hard to spell," Bautista explained. "It's a big B-little a-little u-little t-little i-little s-little t and a little a. Bautista."
Ever since the news broke that the 6'4", 290 lbs leviathan was interested in an MMA career, the MMA media has been abuzz with indignation that Bautista is nothing more than a "freak show".
"Fans can say what they want, I'm training hard. I got the strength and speed and the tattoos," Bautista exclaimed. "But spell my f&#%in' name right."
Bautista's instance on the correct spelling is to differentiate himself from the character "Batista" that he played in the WWE.
"That guy isn't me, he was a character," Bautista said. "He was a big, jacked-up klutz who couldn't go 3 months without a muscle tear. That's just not who I am."
While Dave Bautista hasn't signed a deal with Strikeforce, Scott Coker certainly hasn't ruled it out. Let's just hope he spells the name right on the checks.

I'm calling satire on this one
I was suspicious of the lack of source, and the entire thing in general seemed somewhat insane (certainly a guy who has presented himself to the world as a version of his real last name altered by a single letter should understand why people are getting confused), but THIS quote is just batshit insane:
“That guy isn’t me, he was a character,” Bautista said. “He was a big, jacked-up klutz who couldn’t go 3 months without a muscle tear. That’s just not who I am.”
There is NO WAY even the dumbest wrestler in the world (which Batista is not, by a long shot), or the most kayfabed wrestler in the world (also something he’s not) would say that.
Oh, it says satire right there at the top. Sorry.
