Joe Rogan restarts Fear Factor; Pat Barry to spend one month sparring with Brock Lesnar
According to US Combat Sports, Pat Berry will not only be a sparring partner for UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, but former PRIDE Openweight Champion Mirko "CroCop" Filipovic.
"I’m talking to Cro Cop. Brock Lesnar wants me to come and be his sparring partner. This is what," said the joyful Barry. "You can’t write this man, this isn’t even a dream. This is just all around fabulous. I’m just going to keep riding with it, man, and keep screaming thank you out the window to somebody."
"Something that is really cool and that no one really knows about, Cro Cop says he might fight again in November," Barry unveiled. "And (Filipovic) says as soon as my hand is healed, he would like to fly me to Croatia for a month to come and be his sparring partner.
"He (Filipovic) said, you are faster than I am and you hit harder than I do, or something like that, but I could tell that when we grabbed each other, he’s like I could tell you weren’t very strong. Like you haven’t been wrestling with guys bigger than you or stronger than you…So I’ve got a lot of giant serial killer Croatian guys out here, that are wrestlers that I could throw at you…But I would really like you to come out here and be my sparring partner for my next fight."
Along with the offer from "Cro Cop", which Barry immediately accepted, the Roufusport heavyweight also announced that UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar has approached him about helping him train for a much anticipated bout with Cain Velasquez.
"Brock Lesnar has asked for me to come and be his sparring partner for a month before he fights Cain Velasquez," said Barry. "How cool is that…A month with the heavyweight champion of the universe Brock Lesnar, the biggest scariest dude on earth, and then a month with a legendary striker like Cro Cop."
With the golden opportunities to improve his game with two of the most well-known and respected heavyweights to ever lace up the gloves, Barry has a chance to continually evolve different abilities and disciplines. But in all seriousness, the self-proclaimed "biggest MMA fan ever" has earned this chance to due his lifetime of hard work.
"These two guys have recognized and see something in me that they feel can help them get better, and that’s amazing," said Barry. "I get to see what it’s like to be with the big guy, the heavyweight champ, and to train with Cro Cop, that’s cool man."
My thoughts after the jump (I hate when people say that. The "jump"? The hell is that?)
My thoughts: This poor kid. What is he thinking? Has he seen the Brock Lesnar training videos? Brock beats that poor one guy into unconsciousness with hammer fists. That is not a job I would volunteer for. He seems all too happy to take a beating, especially considering he broke his hand and foot in a fight with Crocop and kept fighting. You can't dislike Barry as he seems like a genuine good guy in the sport. He also admits in the interview that Crocop could be fighting in November which is around the Germany card. With Couture fighting in a couple of weeks, Nogueira tied up against Mir and Gonzaga having a fight scheduled, I wonder who he would be fighting.

It was a joke, come on bruh
Fear Factor, a show where you do shit you wouldn’t wish on the average person.
Joe Rogan hosted that and also does UFC commentary
Training with Brock Lesnar is no walk in the park.
Mix it all together.

“Things that sounded better in your head”
Not that I condone facism or any ism for that matter. Isms are in my opinion, not good. A person shouldn't believe in an ism, he should believe in himself.
I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me". Good point there, after all he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. Wouldn't change the fact I have to bum rides off of people.

Awesome.
I really like Pat. He seems like a cool dude and you can tell he’s genuinely happy and excited to be in the UFC. Plus, he’s a NOLA boy and I always have to root for other Louisiana guys.
Hadoken!!
You’re making me look bad with all the content you’re churning out.
If Brock wants to make Overeem look bad, he’ll need to learn to check a leg kick. Nobody’s been stupid enough to stand on one leg in front of Lesnar and commit to a kick, and I think Overeem will be about the only one to do it.

Frank Mir did it and Brock "checked it" kinda ugly
IMO he’s not that susceptible to leg kicks as he stands so far away and sort’s leaps in/closes distance really quickly (last fight excluding).

I think leg kicks aren't a great idea early on against Brock,
but I do think that knees to his thighs from the clinch up against the cage might just be the best priority for chopping Lesnar down in round one. If you can slow him down a bit, he’ll have to close range in order to provide a threat, at which point you could begin to employ a more traditional striking approach.
Of course, that plan is predicated on winning a standing clinch war for five minutes with Brock Lesnar…
