EA Sports MMA announces pre-order bonuses; fans rush to cancel pre-orders
In the effort to "entice" fans into buying their games earlier, video game developers came up with a brilliant scheme "Pre-order bonuses". Basically, when you pre-order a game, you get a bonus that should come free with the game.and a bonus you can just pay for in a couple of months. Not only do they have this, but they also have "store exclusive" bonuses so you'll have to decide what overpriced retail chain gets your hard-earned money.
if you choose to buy from notorious anti-gamer store Gamestop, you get MMA great MMA star Heisman Trophy winner and former NFL running back Herschel Walker as your "bonus". As you remember Walker made his Strikeforce debut back in January. If this included Tecmo Bowl, it would be a must-buy.
If you choose the oxymoronically named Best Buy to pre-order your game you get "Big" John McCarthy. Now you get to live vicariously through the man who lived vicariously through other fighters in a video game. Hooray. Does he ref his own fights?
Finally, if you pre-order the game at Walmart, you get "classic" Frank Shamrock. I guess this is pre-Jake Shields hate, pre-braces Shamrock. Shrug. But hey, if you order online, you get a free $10 e-gift card and that's never a bad thing.

Despite the awesome shaders and the incredible work their modeling and texture team did, the animation and the UTTER BULLSHIT this post is informing me of has convinced me that the next fighting game I buy will MvC3. There is no MMA game on the horizon that I will be wasting money on. Nor will I buy any EA game if this is how worthless they perceive their customers.
