UPDATE: With Belcher vs Maia Off; Marquardt vs Paul Harris new main event for UFC Fight Night 22
The scheduled main event of UFC Fight Night 22 in Austin, TX of Alan Belcher versus Demian Maia was recently called off due to a detached retina suffered by Belcher. Instead, according to MMA Junkie, the UFC 118 main card fight of Nate Marquardt and Rousimar Palhares has been moved to the Sept. 15th as the new main event.
As of now, it's unclear whether or not Maia will remain on the card; but with most potential opponents either injured or locked into fights, unless a "Chris Leben" steps up, Maia looks to be off the card.
Airing live in SPIKE TV, the Marquardt versus Palhares headlined card will serve as the lead-in to The Ultimate Fighter Season 12 featuring coaches UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre and number one contender Josh Koscheck.
Marquardt (29-9-2 MMA) is coming off a one-sided loss to middleweight number one contender Chael Sonnen at UFC 109. Palhares, on the other hand, is riding a three-fight winning streak beating Jeremy Horn, Lucido Linhares, and Tomasz Drawl. With a win over Marquardt, Palhares places himself in Middleweight Title contention.
With the Marquardt/Palhares fight moving, that leaves an opening on the UFC 118 card in Boston, MA. It is unknown whether the UFC will decide to promote an under-card fight put together another fight. Maia has expressed interest in fighting as soon as possible. The Ultimate Fighter Season 8 winner Efrain Escudero takes on John Gunderson on the under-card and is a likely candidate to move up.
The remainder of the televised portion of the card features all Lightweight bouts as Jim Miller takes on Gleison Tibau, Ross Pearson faces off with Cole Miller and a rematch between Mac Danzig and Matt Wiman. The duo originally paired off at UFC 115 where Wiman defeated Danzig via first round submission. According to most however, the stoppage was premature and incorrect because while Wiman had Danzig in a guillotine choke, it was not tightly applied and Danzig had room to breathe. Referee Yves Lavigne called a stoppage despite the fact that Danzig had not submitted and was still conscious.
***UPDATE**** According to the UFC Fight Night 22 website, the new main event is.....Nate Marquardt vs Demian Maia in a rematch from UFC 102. WOW.
***UPDATE #2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO*** Apparently it's a glitch.

Let’s start printing up the Paul Harris t-shirts now. Imagine if he taps Nate… what an investment opportunity. T-shirt will go from 8.99 to 9.99 in value overnight!!! It’s a no Brainer.
I will buy a Paul Harris tapped The Great One T-shirt IF/After UFN 22.

Who's next?
so where does this leave Maia
then? only legit opponent that’d be available in October/November would be Leben. Wandy is out til Jan/Feb at the earliest and the rumor is that Wandy/Leben will be coaching the next TUF.

Just throw someone to the wolves for Maia
a thank you for stepping up to fight Silva at UFC 112
Paul Harris. I’m so tired I was like “What? He’s fighting palhares….wtf? Did Palhares get injured? Whos paul harris?”
Even a broken clock is right two times a day.
Oops no they didn’t. Don’t know who’s fighting but a rematch really doesn’t make sense at this point. That first fight was pretty much . . . conclusive. It was not a lucky punch and NO, Maia did not “just get caught.”

I'd love to see the rematch
Anytime you get an immediate KO like that you still wonder who would win the chess match

Please don't encourage the "Paul Harris" stuff Black Lesnar.. it was funny the first time, then it got real old
That is all.
Thank you...uh, Mr. Fat?
Called it before the fight:
Cardio - The BIG question. Does Shane Carwin have cardio? He's never gone past the first round. His muscle mass is astounding and we all know that with all that muscle comes a need for the heart to pump fresh oxygenated blood to keep them from building lactic acid. He does train up in the thin air of Colorado, so that can't do anything but help. However, we have seen him pretty winded after a 1st round fight. Adrenaline dump or cardio problems? We won't find out the answer to that until someone takes him out of the first round.

I'm glad you grabbed that screen shot...
Otherwise I would have thought I hallucinated the whole thing. Including the site not being in English when I saw it.
