World Combat Games Started this Weekend. Wait, there's a World Combat Games?
This sounds potentially interesting:
From August 27 to September 4 2010, Beijing hosts the first SportAccord Combat Games ever ...The Combat Games 2010 feature 13 martial arts and combat sports, both Olympic and non-Olympic [ including Judo, Kickboxing, Wrestling, Kendo, Taekwondo, Sumo, Karate, Aikido, Boxing, Muaythai, Wushu, Ju-Jitsu and Sambo]. "We want to support our members by giving them the opportunity to get exposure to a worldwide audience. The Combat Games offer the participating sports a unique chance to be on stage together and will bring them closer to the public, " SportAccord President Hein Verbruggen explains the strategy behind the Games.
Think of this as a World Championship-like event for combat sports. Perhaps there will be some bright young Judoka who will be the Stephen Strasburg of MMA. Is there an equivalent of Tommy-John surgery for MMA? Perhaps Shogun old lady knee surgery.
Check out the official website and the official youtube channel for highlights.

It certainly was, replace the trophy he was receiving with an ice cream cone, and it’s a dead on match. Could use more professional analysis…
