UFC 117 Quick Results
Whew! It was a hell of a night of fights in Oakland, as UFC 117 delivered plenty of exciting action (well, maybe not the Fitch fight, but we should all be used to that by now), capped off by Anderson Silva's extraordinary comeback submission win over Chael "I didn't tap" Sonnen.

Silva didnt use very much of that blackbelt early
till the 4th round when he finally started using that awesome body triangle consistently.
Amazing skill…but Sonnen needs better.
Only sleeper was the fitch fight on the whole card.

For me, the Fitch fight was like a non stop comedy act. Watched Thiago accomplish nothing was a treat. Some people write off those Fitch decisions as boring, but for me, it’s a big feat to sit there and just break someone down and suck any hope of accomplishing anything out of them. He could take a lesson or two from Sonnen though, he’s one of the best at maintaining position while inflicting damage.
Driving the Chael Sonnen hype train, here's to hoping we don't get derailed 4/5 of the way to the next station!

That has to explain the submission.
It really is a joke with fitch, especially with Rogan on the mike lol.

I love Watching Jon Fitch Fitch someone
Its entertaining to watch how he uses positional control. I find ti exciting and extremely impressive
Even a broken clock is right two times a day.
Did anyone else catch that wicked elbow that Silva threw at Sonnen in the beginning of the fourth round. It was the same exact one he KO’d Fryklund with. Would have been so sweet if he would have landed it tonight.

I didnt see him try to clinch though
Not typical of Anderson not to deliver more knees. The knees set up those elbows usually.
I still can’t believe he made it look so easy in the darkest hour.

Holy shit – Saunders lost?

Anyone else notice Sonnen slapping silva in the face repeatedly in the 2nd round?
