Dana White not so sure about Fitch getting the next UFC title Shot

Dana White is seemingly already starting to renege on his proclamation that the winer of the Alves/Fitch fight would get the next title shot. I figured he would do this after Fitch gave another "Fitch-like" performance. To this I say, "What the fuck?" Has Dana White not seen Jon Fitch fight for the past 4 years? Did he not know that he would fight the same way? Why make the announcement if you knew that it was conditional? Jon Fitch did what he was supposed to do, he won. This is a "sport" (or so you want people to think it is), you should be rewarded for winning PERIOD.

Nah, Fitch is still the same fighter and would still get the same beatdown

I would rather someone who did not get a title shot receive one over Fitch (Kos, Shields, Kamp)

Then when they are exhausted, give him one. He is a good fail safe

to renege would be tottal BS

Fitch is do if you ask me, Kampmann might be fun and though he is seriously underrated on the ground he can put up a fight.

If Shields beats Kampmann he should get the shot just so he doesn’t lose to someone else before GSP kicks his ass. If Kampmann wins Fitch gets the next shot at GSP and Kampmann fights the winner of Hardy/Condit for the title shot. That being said no one deserves it more than Fitch.

I feel bad for Fitch. He wins all his fights, but because he’s boring to watch he doesn’t get a title shot. He earned it.

It’s obvious White wants Shields to fight GSP next but that’ll be another boring fight. Just two guys trying to get the top position and lying on each other.

I think it would be amazing if Kos beat GSP just to shake things up. It would make the division so much more fun.

I disagree.

Shields is better than you think.

I think they’d be close, but I give the edge to the UFC studs, but it might be a bit of a stalemate against Kos.

It's all about money

I think Dana is just looking at it in terms of marketability. GSP and Fitch fought just little over 2 years ago and GSP dominated Jon. After that Fitch has gone on a 5 fight win streak grinding out UDs. Have they been the most exciting fights and performances? No. Have they all been against tough opponents? Yes, and I think Dana knows that. But he also knows that the public always wants to see new and exciting title matches. The only time recently that they have done Immediate title rematches is when it was a close/controversial Decision. And a lot of people have been saying that if Fitch were to fight GSP again that it would be more of the same. The question is that do you think people are going to shell out their money to pay to see more of the same. Do I personally think Fitch deserves another shot at the belt? Hell yeah I do, but at the same time I am interested in seeing someone else get their shot. To me the only difference between Kos getting his shot instead of Fitch right now is that he fought GSP over three years ago, it wasn’t a title match, and that Kos has improved quite a bit since then.
