Phil Baroni Reaches Low Point Following Cut From The UFC

"The New York Badass" Phil Baroni recently competed against up-and-comer Brad Tavares at UFC 125, suffering a 1st round defeat. It was Baroni's 2nd loss in the cage and many feared that the fan-favorite fighter would be cut from the UFC. Those fears were actualized when the UFC released Baroni earlier this week. Baroni was dejected as were many of his fans. Though his Twitter tweets suggested disappointment, many near him felt he would pull through in due time. Those feelings changed this morning when Phil Baroni hit rock bottom. Phil Baroni posted on Sherdog

OK,

Im Over It Now.....

The Journey Continues.................

ILL BE BACK!

NYBA

Phil B

after this message runs its course 4 now on Ill be posting in the contenders forum until Im back in the UFC

If you're a friend of Phil's, please talk to him. Posting on Sherdog can do nothing good for him. Posting on Sherdog is the last thing he needs right now. Stage an intervention. Phil, if you're reading this, we love you Phil. You'll be back in the UFC again. There's no need to post on Sherdog. There's so many people who love and support you. If you're a fan of Phil Baroni like I am, tweet him (@philbaroni) and let him know how much you support him.

President Obama "Not Worried About [Jacob Volkmann]" In Response To Being Called Out After UFC 125

Volkmann PLEASE.

WASHINGTON D.C. -- Two days after being the target of a UFC fighter's post-fight callout, President Barack Obama remains unfazed.

"His name is Jacob Volkmann," Obama said, referring to the name of the fighter that called him out. "They call him Christmas cause people say he looks like the idiot from 'Dumb and Dumber'. Yo, Joe, find me a picture of this guy."

"Joe" referring to Joesph Biden, the Vice President of the United States. Biden quickly pulled up an array of photos.

"Man, look at dude's hair cut. I think we need to enact a stimulus plan so he can stop going to Supercuts.at the mall," the President exclaimed. "Maybe we do need to keep these tax cuts."

Volkmann, who in addition to being a fighter, is also a chiropractor and was critical of the healthcare plans Obama has been campaigning for.

"Hold on, hold on, hold on, this dude called me an idiot? Lemme get this straight. I'm the idiot," asked Obama, as his face got real serious. "He's fighting for peanuts and no health care while moonlighting rubbing men's backs and I'm putting out fires around the world and I'm the idiot? I went to Harvard Law fool."

President Obama told me he was a fan of the UFC and Strikeforce and watched many of their PPVs.

"Yeah, I been a fan since Randy [Couture] beat Chuck [Liddell]," remembers President Obama. "A fan of BJ Penn as well."

President Obama was right in front of his TV watching UFC 125 last Saturday, but was astonished to hear of Volkmann's challenge.

"I'll tell you this, uh, he can come fight me anytime he wants I'm not worried about him," challenged Obama. "I may not have a black belt, but I do have a Black foot and I will put it straight up his ass."

Rumor: Dog the Bounty Hunter To Appear In Chris Leben's Corner At UFC 125

A few years ago, Duane "Dog he Bounty Hunter" Chapman was a popular TV figure on his A&E show chasing down bail-jumpers with his fat, big-breasted wife and dysfunctional family in Hawaii. That was until suspicions were confirmed and an audio recording of Chapman using racial slurs and hate language against his son's girlfriend surfaced showing some disturbing bigotry. His show was cancelled, but a year later it was picked up again and he's still in the bonding business.

Chris Leben was recently arrested on suspicion of DUI in Hawaii. This was Leben's 2nd arrest for that charge. He needed someone to help post bond; he turned to Chapman. Chapman's company put up the bond money to spring Leben from jail. The rumor is that Dog will be in Chris Leben's entourage, if not in his corner, similar to Steven Seagal's appearance in Anderson Silva's corner. It seems as though Chapman and Leben made a connection talking about things like overcoming addiction, etc. Chapman is a fan of MMA and his son is/was involved in local MMA promotions.

Will Chapman be a good influence on Leben? Time will tell.

Meltzer: John Cena NOT Injured, Looking For Way Out Of WWE Contract

via www.allwrestlingsuperstars.com

According to Dave Meltzer of Yahoo Sports, former WWE heavyweight champion John Cena is looking for an "exit strategy" to get out of his WWE contract.. Cena "badly" wants to work the UFC's PPV in Toronto next year.

The MMA world has been buzzing about this story since Dave Meltzer broke the news on Tuesday night. Meltzer said on his radio show that the beatdown by Nexus has changed Cena's attitude on wrestling and he is at the stage in his life where he doesn't want to get injured. He's very well off financially and the business man in him apparently knows that it may be time to move on.

Its widely known that Cena is miserable with WWE's brutal travel schedule and doesn't want to be on the road with WWE 200 days a year again. With the mainstream success he's had in movies and the insane drawing power he's displayed during in the WWE, he could make a truckload of money working a couple of PPVs and a few other limited appearances.

Breaking News: Dana White's Big Announcement Regarding UFC 125: Maynard vs Edgar

Dana White tweeted:

I have a special announcement at the conf that I am VERY pumped about so if you can be there, cool. If not watch on UFC.com

My sources tell me that the big announcement is that the main event of Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard for the UFC Lightweight title has been moved to the prelims due to lack of interest.

Meltzer: Brock Lesnar Having Trouble Playing With Kids

via liquidpaper.typepad.com

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Radio (subscription needed), Dave Meltzer of Yahoo MMA fame related that Brock Lesnar is having some issues as a result of his loss to Cain Velasquez.

"Yeah, he's going through some things. He hasn't trained since the fight. I mean he was suspended from contact, but if he really wanted to fight, he'd get back in there. He did say he was taking time off to go hunting at the UFC 116 post-fight conference as well as several interviews leading up the the Velasquez fight, but if he was a real fighter, he'd go train in Thailand and learn some kickboxing. He can't even play games with his kid. Everytime his son goes to play peek-a-boo, Lesnar runs away crying  If you can't read between the subtext I'm saying Lesnar is scared."

Looks like Dave Meltzer is pretty vague in his statements and doesn't state any sources or that he's even talked to Brock, but that hasn't stopped us from taking it, putting our own spin on it and printing it as fact. MMA NEWWWWWWWWWS.

Mighty Lesnar in the Cage - An Poem

I wonder how Lesnar's biggest fan feels

(As part of the WKR: Year in Review, this was originally posted Ootober 25th, 2010)

The outlook wasn't brilliant for the Lesnar fans that day;
The champ had ran like Flo Jo when Shane Carwin swung away,
And then when Carwin gassed in the the first, and Brock survived,
A cheer rose up among them when the DeathClutch was applied

A straggling few got off the bandwagon. The rest
Clung to his nuts tighter with an effervescent zest
They thought, "Carwin was a hulking beast, survival was the plan —
Surely we'd beat the Mexican with pillow-fisted hands."

Yes Carwin was a lumbering oaf with shady steroid past,
But even deep down they'd admit, he kicked Brock Lesnar's ass
Raining down shots upon his head, the title was his focus;
Till he was stricken with a fatal dose of lactic acidosis.
